2015!

New Year!

I find that every year, we all do the same thing; we say we are going to change, but lets be honest... most likely your New Years Resolutions are probably going to fall through. Its sad, but it happens to all of us.
This year I decided that I am going to have a lot smaller and more realistic goals through out the year, instead of just having one big goal. This year, I have three main goals, excluding health and fitness related. So here they are:
1. I want straight A's in school this year.
2. I want my brown belt in martial arts this year.
3. Learners license; I turn 16 in a month and am way too excited about driving!
I really hope that I will hold myself accountable for these three things and make them actually come true.

In other news, I know I haven't posted for a long time, but I am officially back. First term back at school was a little stressful and busy, but now I am so excited to be back. Winter break ends on January 5th, and you can expect some new posts coming your way!
I hope everyone had a good holiday, with friends and family. And I hope you all make the best of this New Year!

Fitness!

Hello Lovely!

I am going to start a serious about Inner Beauty. As much as I love dressing up the outside (makeup, hair, fashion, etc.), the real beauty from one, comes from within. I believe that there are so many things that come into play when you think of beauty, this ranges anywhere between self-confidence, health, fitness, self esteem and so much more.

Today I am going to talk about something that always manages to make me feel better and currently i feel like this is the one thing that i am focusing on throughout the summer. And of coarse that is health and fitness!

Here's a little backround on my health and fitness, so that you know my fitness level and such:
I consider myself a semi-athletic person. I did dance from the ages of 3-11. I used to love it but I quit because it was getting less fun as time went on (thats my personal opinion).
When I was 8 I began martial arts, and as time has gone by it has become an even bigger part of life. I currently hold a red belt in mixed martial arts. I train quite often. I have class four times a week and I am also (luckily) a junior instructor, meaning I go a couple more days a week and i get to help the real instructors with the kids classes. Martial arts is my absolute passion and I plan to do it for years to come
When i was younger i used to swim a lot too. I consider myself pretty good at swimming. But as the years passes I don't enjoy it anymore. I want to get back into it, I have a swimming pool in my back yard so I have been trying to get into it!

Anyways! Lets start with my tips, motivation and fitness routine/ideas!!

1) My first tip is to find some friends to get fit with! Over the weekend one of my friends asked me if i wanted run with her! We went for our first run yesterday and are planning so many more! Having friends to work out with is such a great way to get motivated! We ran/walked 7k! We were very proud of ourselves!

2) Make a goal for yourself! Making a goal for yourself is a great way because it gives you something to work towards! Write this in a journal or somewhere you will see it and remember it! I write a sticky note and put it under my light switch so i always see it. Your goal could be as simple as going for a walk every night or every other night.

3) Find Inspiration and Motivation. You can find this anywhere and everywhere. I like to go on tumblr or pintrest and search up fitness quotes (I live for quotes). These really motivate me and I love adding pretty ones as my phone wallpaper, so that I am constantly looking at it and remembering. I also find it really helps if you prepare cute workout cloths the night before, so you don't have an excuse in the morning.



4) Find something that you love to do, and do it! Personally I love martial arts but that doesn't happen everyday, so I had to find other things to fill up the gaps. I found that I love going for walks with my dog, runs with my friends, running on an elipticle machine, and doing self workouts in my bedroom. You might love swimming, so go swimming! You might like biking, try biking to a new place every other day! There are loads of things you can do!

5) Watch some workout videos! There are TONS on youtube that you can get (for free) and they work wonders. I love Blogilates I find her very motivating and cute. She has awesome videos and she constantly saying motivating things. Theres also people like Tone it Up and XFit. These are all awesome trainers who can give you awesome

Alright, those are some of my tips for fitness. I am going to do a short series of how to build your Self Esteem, I think that its one thing to look healthy, but its another thing to feel, be, and act healthy. I will have some tips on eating right next time!

Summer Favorites

Hey Lovely!
Today I will be sharing with you my favourites and essentials for summer time! Lets get right into it!
Fashion:
Here in B.C the weather varies a lot, yesterday was super sunny and today it was cold and it rain :(. So I love clothes that can be layered and are versatile. I love loose, cotton shorts that are comfortable and look super cute! I am loving my old favourite from Lululemon. These are so comfortable and stretchy, I wear them to sleep and out... oops. For tops I have been loving loose tees and big baggy sweaters. I love my half zip sweaters from PINK and also my any sweaters that are lying around the house.
But when I am putting more effort into my outfits I love high-waisted printed denim shorts and crop tops. For shoes so far i have been loving my toms as well as my Ugg moccasins. They are both so comfortable and easy to just slip on and off.

You cant really see it but my shorts are from Lululemon as well as my top.

For the really cold and rainy days I love my sweatpants or my leggings, again going for comfort. And no matter the weather, hot or cold, i love my big baggy sweaters! They are so cozy and comfy, I wear them all year long.

Nails:
For my nails i have been loving light, nude, white, or light pinks. I think they make my hands look so much tanner then they actually are. I love the sheer nail polishes because they give you a natural looking french manicure. I have been wearing Essie's "Rock Candy", Essie's "She Said Yes", and O.P.I's "It's A Girl!" When I am going for a Pop of colour I go for light greens, blues and brighter pinks. I love these colours for summer because they look summery and they are light enough for the summer, but they can transition into fall and spring. I have been wearing Essie's "Turquoise & Caicos", O.P.I's "Can't Find My Czechbook", and Essie's "Van D'Go".


         Hair:
Hair has always and forever will be my favourite accessory. Last week I dyed the ends of my hair a orang-ish brown. I used Loreal's Féria Ombre in the colour C74. It turned into a really nice dark orange brown. And now that i have taken the first step in changing my hair, I think I will go the whole way. I want to dye the top of my hair the Loreal Féria Ombre in C74 and then do two other colours down the rest of my hair, I would do a light orange brown and then a light orange at the bottom. Or even maybe a red to a orange. I have found some really nice pictures that i want to do. Let me know what you think! I just want to change up my look for summer and the next year at school because I feel like I am a new person now.
Random:
Food: Like every summer my favourite fruit is always watermelon, I just find it so refreshing and delicious!
TV Shows: TEEN WOLF! The new season just started and I am so excited! I have also been really into So You Think You Can Dance, this season looks really promising and I am so excite, I've always watched this show with my mom. When I was little I would try to dance like them because dancing was a big par of my life back then.
Music: I have become absolutely OBSESSED with Cher Lloyd's new album Sorry I'm Late. Every song just takes me away and the whole album is always on repeat on my phone. My favourite songs on the album are: Humans, Sirens, Dirty Love, Bind Your Love, Sweet Despair and M.F.P.O.T.Y.

Lets start over

Hello Again! Great of you to be joining me! 
This past week I have been trying to think of where I want my blog to go, what I want on it and what I think I would like to write about most. And although I love to write about makeup and fashion, I think I want to write more about my life as well. So lets give it another go from the beginning. 
 This Is Me:
My name is Tia. I am 15 years old, growing up in B.C Canada. I am your typical teenage girl, I love shopping, hanging with my friends, Netflix, food, music, and of coarse anything fun. I have the best family in the world, which consists of my mom and dad, my little brother and the newest member, my puppy. And then of coarse there is my second family consisting of a group of amazing girls. My favourite thing to do outside of school is Martial arts, its my biggest passion besides fashion and beauty. Why I Am Blogging:
I first started to talk about something I love: Fashion and beauty. But then I was thinking that I don't want to just talk about that kind of stuff. I want to do so much more than that, I want to inspire young teenagers, or even older people, to know that everyone is beautiful inside and out. And if you don't believe it right now, then I want to help you believe it. I want to help you get to a place where you can be happy with yourself. I am on this journey to find a version of myself that meets my expectations of myself, so why don't we do it together? I love to write inspirational things so maybe in the nearby future I will write a very inspiration post about loving yourself. I want anyone and everyone who reads this to somehow find a tip that will help them feel more beautiful, inside and out. 
What to expect: 
Starting this week I will stick much closer to my schedule and I will be putting so much time and effort into this blog. You can expect to see beauty, fashion posts but also health and fitness, monthly favourites (beauty and random), life style, rambles, inspiration talks, and most of all just a place to come whenever and where ever.
 Schedule?
 Yes I will be having a schedule on a week to week basis. But instead of having every monday be MakeupMonday I will be writing about whatever i feel like on any of these days. So I will be posting on Mondays, Thursday, and Saturdays. This is Going up on a tuesday because I wasn't sure how exactly I wanted to say this. But you can expect a new post on Thursday!

Past, present, future.

HI again, everyone 
I’m so sorry this is so late in the day. I have been out all day and unfortunately I do not have good preplanning skills. Also I have been having writers block for the past week on what I want to do on Thursdays. So I decided it will be my free day. Where I will write about whatever I want to write. Both for you to read and for me to look back on.
So I am just going to go on a ramble tonight and lets hope I turn out with something good. So lets start with why I made this blog.
A couple weeks ago my mom suggested I start a blog. And its something I’ve always thought about doing but never actually had the courage to ask my parents for permission. I am a very “goody toe-shoes” when it comes to asking permission and such. So when my mom suggested it I was so excited. Unfortunately I couldn’t start it right away because I had exams to finish. So as soon as I finished my last exam, I came straight home and created BaxtersBeauty.
So lets go to the past now:
I was born in B.C on February 6th, 1999. The next year my mom had my little brother. My brother and I are pretty close in age and we grew up together. He’s always been by my side and I will love him forever, although we argue more often then not….
When I was three my mom put me in dance classes and I danced in competitions and in 2010 I danced in the nutcracker as a toy soldier. I quite that same year because I wasn’t very good and I knew it wasn’t what I wanted to do. That was a really hard decision. Also when I was 8 my parents put me and martial art classes, and I really excelled at that. Currently I hold a red belt in mix martial arts and am a junior instructor at my studio. Unlike dance I feel like I am good at it and its kind of like my thing… like i was almost born to do it… cliché, I know.
Present Day:
Where I am from we do not have middle school. School goes from pre-k to grade 7, then 8 to 12. I finished grade 9 last week and go into grade 10 in September. The past two years has been great already. I have broken out of my comfort shell(in the past two weeks) and I have really been able to find out who my true friends are and who the fake brats are. Trust me I have had a few too many fights with “best friends”. I have also had my fair share of boy drama, which adds to the high school experience, but I wouldn’t change any of it for anything because all the stuff just mentioned is making me into a stronger person.
This last year. I became so much closer with my best friend and I absolutely love her… I have never really had a best friend until now although she’s been my best friend since grade one. My group of friends has begun to separate so much. Everyone talks smack about each other behind their backs and I have had enough of it and am finally breaking through and expanding my horizons. I have met so many other great friends that always have my back and I swear I haven’t had this much fun with any of my friends till this past month.

Future:
This summer I have some goals I want to complete. I want to go on a walk/run everyday with my dog just to get exercise because last year I spent almost all summer in my bed watching Netflix… oops. I also want to workout every other day so that i can stay fit.
I also want to begin to eat healthy. I want to cut junk food out of my diet for good and eat so many more fruits and vegetables. I want to get an amazing body before school starts. Oh on this topic I also want to clear my skin up because I have (not too bad, but its still there) acne. I am going to go on a juice cleanse as well as a water diet, where I don’t drink pops or juices just smoothies and water.
Another goal is I want to completely redo my room. At the moment my room is clustered and unorganized. I would love to just spend a week completely redoing it so that it is perfect. I would love to paint my walls of maybe just add pictures and more room decoration.
Finally I want to get out more, I want to hang with my friends at least once a week every week. Last year I didn’t make too much of an effort to see any of them, so this year I want to make up for all that lost time. I would love to be able to make a lot more unforgettable memories with all my friends and have relationships I will cherish forever.

I think that it is for now. I hope you didn’t find this little ramble toooooo boring. I think every Thursday I will rotate between little rambles like this and hair/nail posts. So next week look out for a hair or nail post.

MakeupMonday: Naturally Nude

Naturally Nude

Hello :) So as of today every monday will be: MakeupMonday! I will share my favourite products, looks, reviews, and anything else that has anything to do with makeup. Today I went for a bronze, neutral eye that I would personally wear to school, shopping, or a dinner with friends or family.  

Starting with the products I have on:

Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation- 56$ 
Benefit Erase Paste- 32$
Covergirl Clean skin pressed powder- 7$
Urban Decay Primer Potion- 14$ (travel size)
Urban Decay Naked Flush- 35$
Maybelline Lasting Drama by EyeStudio Gel Eyeliner(Blackest Black)- 9.99$
Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner (Nude)- 4.49$
Revlon Colorstay eyeliner(Black)- 6.79$
L'Oreal Paris Voluminous Butterfly Mascara- 8.99$
Rimmel Show Off Lip Laquer- 5.49$

Face: I started off with my Bobbi Brown foundation in Sand, with a damp Beauty Blender, I applied this all over my face and down my neck. Then with a Sigma F70 I used my Erase Paste to cover dark circles, blemishes, and under my nose. To set this I used my Covergirl Pressed Powder with the sponge applicator that comes with this product. For cheeks I am wearing the blush in the Urban Decay Flushed palette. It is a very natural looking blush but has a little bit of sparkle (the tiniest amount) to give a beautiful glow. I also have on the bronzer from this pallet. It is a very beautiful colour that isn't too orange but has a good balance and works well with my skin town. It is quite a light shade so I recommend it for lighter skin tones.
Eyes: I started off with applying my Urban Decay Primer Potion all over my lid and up to my eyebrow, this product really works! I swear by it! Next I applied the third from the left colour of the Revlon creme palette to the inner part of my eye and then the first to the outer part lightly. I blended these together and then blended my bronzer into the crease to give a nice faded look. I applied Maybelline Eye Studio gel eyeliner as a winged liner and I swear I cannot make them look the same for the life of my, so bare with me! Then I added my Scandal Eyes Eyeliner to the inner corner and my Rimmel ColorStay eyeliner to the waterline. Finally I finished off with my Voluminous Butterfly Mascara. This is my Holy Grail Product, I highly recommend it! It really lengthens and shows off each individual lash. My only down fall is the smell, it has a very strong perfume scent. 

Revlon Palette
Lips: I topped off this look with my Rimmel London Show Off Lip Lacquer (or Apocalips Lip Lacquer) in Celestic! This is a very pretty rose nude colour. I personally love this colour because it is my lip colour only enhanced! I love finding colours that enhance my natural lip colour for a natural look. This lip product has a really nice smell and great staying power, almost like a stain. I never feel it when its dry. 

So that is my look for the day! I do my makeup like this often when i want a little extra of my everyday makeup routine, which is just a toned down version of this.
